How it works

It is simple, and there is no catch. We have built and we run a website that gets found on Google by people across Yorkshire looking for a gardener. When one of them fills in our form, we pass that customer to a local gardener who covers their postcode. That gardener is the one who does the work and keeps almost all of the money.

The first job is free and direct. We send you a real, live customer, you quote them, you do the job, and you keep everything. That is the trial, both ways: you see that the work is real, we see that you turn up and do a good job. After that, simple terms kick in.

• We generate the customers. They have already searched for a gardener and asked for help. No cold leads, no directories, no bidding against five other firms.
• You keep 90% of every job. One flat number. No subscription, no card on file, no minimum spend, no joining fee.
• You get paid fast on completion. Once the job is done and confirmed, your money is sent straight to your bank, same or next day.
• No chasing for work. The customers come to you. You spend your time gardening, not advertising.
• No lead fees. You never pay us to be sent a job. We only ever take our share out of work you have actually done and been paid for.
• Work the jobs you want. Too busy, wrong patch, not your sort of work? Say no and we place it elsewhere. There is no penalty for turning a job down.

You stay your own boss

This is not a franchise and it is not employment. You keep your own business, your own name, your own tools and your own way of working. We are simply your digital arm: we find the customers and send them your way. When you ring a customer you trade under your own name, we just ask that you mention you were connected through Yorkshire Lawn & Garden so they know where the call came from.

What it pays

You keep 90% of every job, one-off or regular, for as long as the customer stays with us. The maths is straightforward. Take a fortnightly lawn customer paying £40 a visit:

Build up a handful of regular customers like that and it is steady, repeat work that you did not have to go looking for. The first job is always free so you risk nothing to find out whether the work is any good.

The detail

What is the catch? Why is the first job free?

There is no catch. The first job being free is the trial, and it works both ways. You get to see that our customers are real and that the work is worth your time before any terms exist. We get to see that you are reliable and do a good job before we keep sending you work. Nobody signs anything, nobody pays anything up front, and if it does not suit either side after the first job, we both just walk away.

After that first job, the simple terms are: you keep 90% of everything, the customer pays through us so there is no chasing, and you get your share the moment the job is confirmed done.

How do I get paid?

On the first free job you take the money from the customer yourself and keep all of it. From the second job onwards, the customer pays us and we send your 90% straight to your bank as soon as the job is confirmed complete, normally the same or next day. That means no waiting weeks for an invoice to be paid and no chasing customers for money. The only thing that ever comes out is our 10%, and only on work you have actually done.

Do I have to take every job?

No. You only take the jobs you want. If you are fully booked, if a job is outside your patch, or if it is not the kind of work you do, just say so and we will place it with someone else. There is no minimum, no quota and no penalty for turning work down. You stay in full control of your own diary.

Am I working for you?

No. You stay your own boss, running your own business under your own name. We are not your employer and this is not a franchise. We bring you customers and you decide what to do with them. The only thing we ask is that when you speak to a customer you mention you were connected through Yorkshire Lawn & Garden, so they know where the call came from and the work keeps flowing.

What areas are you covering?

The whole of Yorkshire. Our website already has pages ranking for towns right across North, South, East and West Yorkshire, and enquiries are coming in from across the region.
